While you wait for your order to be delivered, I’ll tell you a little bit about how to use your cream and how your skin may need a little time to get used to your new routine.
How to use your cream
- We recommend cleansing your face every morning and evening 💦
- After cleansing your face, apply a thin layer of your Nøie cream 🧴
- If your skin tends to get oily and/or you use sunscreen, 1-2 pumps of cream is often enough. A thick layer of cream does unfortunately not give you a faster or better result, so stick to a thin layer to avoid oily skin
Getting used to your cream
Changing your skincare routine often requires a period of time where your skin may behave differently than you’re used to. It varies from person to person how the skin reacts and how fast the skin improvement appears. Especially users with acne may experience an increase in breakouts in the first 4-5 weeks as all impurities come to the surface. But don’t lose patience, the results will be well worth it! 💪✨
Don’t sweat it if you experience:
An increase in breakouts. Especially formulations with the ingredient salicylic acid are good at bringing impurities to the surface of your skin helping you get rid of them. But hang in there - your skin improvement is on its way!
Your skin feels oily. Oftentimes skincare products for acne tend to dry out your skin. But it’s a misunderstanding that skin with acne doesn’t need moisture and a healthy skin barrier. Quite the opposite: Products that dry out your skin will make your skin produce more oil to compensate for the dryness. All our creams contain oils and moisturising ingredients like Squalane that resembles your skin’s own oil sebum. Squalane helps your skin stabilise its own production of oil if your skin is producing too much sebum due to drying products. And don’t worry, the oils in your cream will not give you breakouts - quite the contrary 🙏
Your skin feels dry. If your skin is used to a different amount of oil than what you have in your new Nøie cream, it can also react with dryness. But that’s completely normal too! The Squalane in your new cream will help your skin stabilise its production of oil - so healthy and moisturised skin is just around the corner ✨ You may also experience flaky skin, since your cream contains exfoliating ingredients. This is completely normal and is a sign that the cream is helping your skin shed any dead skin cells.
- Your skin doesn’t react at all. As mentioned before, it varies from person to person how the skin reacts to a new product. So if your skin doesn't react with dryness, oiliness, breakouts or anything else - that’s completely normal too! And may I add super nice for you if your skin starts looking better and healthier from day one 🤩
